Acura's leading performance sedan, the TLX, will soon expand its appeal with the limited production hand-assembled Type S PMC Edition for model year 2023. This is the fifth Acura to be handcrafted by the technicians who created the spirited Acura NSX Type S at the Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) in Marysville, Ohio. It's designed for the most ardent enthusiasts but will be limited to 300 units, split equally among each of the three eye-catching paint colors: Curva Red, 130R White, and Long Beach Blue Pearl.

Limited Run, Unlimited Drive
The TLX Type S PMC Edition will undergo the same rigorous quality control process as its NSX sibling. This process includes a dyno check, a paint inspection, and a rough-road simulation. To absolutely protect the paint in transit, Acura will secure all TLX Type S PMC Edition units by wrapping them in a special car cover and transporting them via enclosed, single-car carriers. Although reservations are currently full for the Curva Red version, reservations for the 130R White and Long Beach Blue Pearl remain open.

High-Output Performance
The TLX Type S will get its gumption from a 355-hp turbocharged V6. This thrilling powerplant was crafted by the brand's renowned engineers at the Anna Engine Plant in Ohio. Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) will come standard, along with true torque-vectoring Brembo front brakes and a double-wishbone front suspension for enhanced handling.
Striking Exterior
The 2023 TLX Type S PMC Edition will announce itself with a groundbreaking exterior appearance that boasts contrasting Berlina Black paint on the roof, antenna, and door handles. Lightweight copper-painted Y-spoke wheels inspired by those on the NSX will be wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero summer tires, complementing the quad exhaust pipes in black chrome. There will also be special gloss-black badges, a lower side-sill garnish, and a carbon-fiber decklid spoiler and rear diffuser.
Driver-Centric Cockpit
Acura promises that the 2023 TLX Type S PMC Edition's interior will be appropriately sporty with carbon-fiber trim panels, illuminated side sills, and heated flat-bottomed steering wheel. Milano-leather seats with Ultrasuede inserts will cradle the occupants, with power adjustability in the front row. The other features of note will be premium floor mats with Type S badges and colored accent binding, a velvety 17-speaker ELS Studio 3D sound system, and a 10.2-inch touchscreen multimedia system with Acura's award-winning True Touchpad Interface.
The interior's color will depend on the exterior color. For example, the Curva Red versions will get an Ebony interior with red contrast stitching, while the Long Beach Blue Pearl models will receive an Orchid interior with blue contrast stitching. The 130R White, meanwhile, will show off an arresting red cockpit. To top it off, a numbered plaque on the lower console will be designate each unit's sequence in this very limited run.
Safety and Driver-Assistive Tech
The AcuraWatch suite of advanced safety features will come standard in the '23 TLX Type S PMC Edition. This technology bundle consists of collision mitigation braking, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, road departure mitigation with lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, and driver attention warning. On top of that, the 2023 TLX Type S PMC Edition will have the world's first front passenger airbag designed to reduce head rotation in the event of a collision.
